Bajans Helping Bajans
Bajans Helping Bajans (BHB) is a small grassroots community group that delivers food baskets/hampers to very vulnerable families throughout Barbados.
Assisted by many locals and foreign nationals, who visit or live in Barbados, the common thread they share is a desire to help Barbados and its people. BHB provides food hampers to 50 very vulnerable families each month, with a focus on “shut in” and isolated elderly and special needs individuals, as well as single mothers with children. Leading up to the Fall back-to-school and Christmas seasons, BHB helps hundreds more to offset the associated financial burdens, and at the height of the pandemic, BHB mobilized to help over 1000 families.
BHB does not take cash or money directly, preferring supermarket vouchers that can be used to make purchases for those in need. And they also encourage those who are able to volunteer their time to help pack and deliver hampers, taking the opportunity to meet with the families which benefit.
The BCF is a proud supporter of Bajans Helping Bajans.
